Sleeping in Palermo in an Art Nouveau building

The sophistication of the Belle Époque in the historic center of Palermo

The Art Nouveau building of the early decades of the 20th century in which Archè Design Rooms and Suites is the result of a skilful work of harmony, and architectural refinement, which offers our guests the unique experience of sleeping in Palermo surrounded by pure Sicilian art and beauty.
The restoration was guided with the intention of preserving all the traces of the Palermo Belle Époque that the building carried within itself. Hence the decision to enhance the signs of this elegant past by harmonizing them with the taste for modern design.

The continuous lines and the undulating shapes of the "Pompeian" style, the stylization, the rich polychromy in pastel shades and the idealized femininity in ethereal and sinuous figures, enchanted the aristocracy and the rampant bourgeoisie between '800‘s and '900‘s. Palaces adapted to the elegance of what, not surprisingly, is remembered as "the beautiful era" and became meeting places for artists, intellectuals and nobility.

Among these is Ignazio Florio, whose statue looks over our building he was one of the main investors of the artists and architects, as was Ernesto Basile, who became the greatest advocates of art nouveau.
A rich era that has left traces of itself not only in private palaces, but also in monuments and public architecture, such as the Teatro Massimo, the Ribaudo kiosk right in front or the Villino Florio, still admired in Palermo.
